Community Relations Manager

Description This position is responsible developing and managing internal and external messaging throughout the organization, including crisis communications, reputation management and community affairs. The Communications Manager is responsible for building and maintaining a positive image with community leaders, media outlets, the general public and employees.  This person works closely with top executives, field management and store personnel to ensure messaging cohesively projects organizational standards.  Public Relations Assists in developing strong proactive relationships with local media, community and government officials to help generate positive media coverage and mitigate potentially negative coverage. Directs strategies and activities that promote company visibility locally and nationwide, builds a strong company image, increases public awareness and consumer perception of the Save-A-Lot brand.  Oversees external communications strategies, both proactive and reactive. Creates Public Relations programs that positively position Save-A-Lot as a key community partner, excellent shopping resource for current and potential customers by reinforcing the competitive advantages and overall value of the Save-A-Lot hard discount model. Works cross functionally to assist in the development of strategies and cohesive employee communications plans that help inform, increase morale and productivity by enhancing understanding of key company strategies. Analysis of market trends, media issues; coordinate and communicates cross functionally to determine appropriate responses Monitors and analyzes media, political and regulatory developments to keep management informed of potential impacts on the company's interests. Responsible for agency and consulting relationships and budgets. Needs to maintain 24/7 connectedness (or through back up) to respond to crises. Community Relations Leads a comprehensive community activation plan that helps Save-A-Lot deliver on it's promise to be the good neighbor to the communities we serve including accountability for specific KPIs and ROE metrics. Represents the company in community organizations and at community events that support the charitable giving strategy and advance Save-A-Lot's presence in our communities. Promotes good will and foster relationships with community leaders and local legislators. Internal Communications Partners closely with internal communications to deliver on well-planned and integrated communications. Serves on Crisis Team and assists in the development of organizational crisis communications plans, strategy, preparedness, response and evaluation. Stays informed of business priorities, issues and opportunities and align communications strategies and implementation. Minimum Requirements B.A. or B.S. Degree  preferably in journalism, communications or public relations 8-10 years' experience in communications and public relations with a corporation with direct to consumer operations or a corporate - licensee model, agency or similar organization Strong project management skills including the ability to handle numerous projects and issues simultaneously Event management experience and detail oriented Proven ability to partner cross-functionally and lead through influence while providing expert communications and advocacy counsel to C-level and business unit management Demonstrate critical thinking and strategic skills Ability to think on your feet and to work quickly to resolve inquires and questions from journalists, customers, local governmental agencies, employees, etc. Excellent written and oral communications skills including presentation skills and the ability to adapt materials to a wide variety of audiences and formats (e.g., news releases, speeches, articles, business presentations). Some travel will be required. Most work is performed in a temperature controlled environment. Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
